Program Summary

Program Summary

‘If I was to join the IYMP, I would feel that it would benefit me greatly in my chosen career.  The great thing about joining something like this is that you can study anything you want.  This puts you up for a very satisfactory future with your chosen field.  Learning more about what you love doing won’t feel like a chore either, instead you will be learning to do what you love even better.  I feel that joining the IYMP can only be a good thing, and something that will greatly affect your future in an extremely positive way’ – Trai Wells, Tasmania

The Indigenous Youth Mobility Program (IYMP) helps young Indigenous people move away from home to gain the skills they need to get a job in their community or elsewhere.

Indigenous people aged 16 to 24 from remote areas can relocate to an IYMP host location to undertake post secondary education and training options. Training options include Australian Apprenticeships, Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Higher Education that leads to qualifications in nursing, teaching, business administration and accounting, to name but a few possibilities.
