COAG Select Council on Workplace Relations

COAG Select Council on Workplace Relations

The COAG Select Council on Workplace Relations was launched in September 2011 after COAG agreed to establish a new Council System which will better enable COAG to focus on, and progress, nationally significant reforms.

All obligations of the former Workplace Relations Ministers’ Council, which ceased to exist as of September 2011 following the launch of the new Council System, are now pursued through the COAG Select Council on Workplace Relations. For further information on the COAG Select Council on Workplace Relations please refer to the Terms of Reference.

The COAG Select Council on Workplace Relations is chaired by the Hon Bill Shorten, Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations and Minister for Financial Services and Superannuation.

Membership of the COAG Select Council on Workplace Relations comprises of Commonwealth, state and territory ministers with responsibility for workplace relations and work health and safety (WHS).  There are up to two Ministerial representatives from each jurisdiction to ensure that both workplace relations and WHS matters are appropriately represented.

The COAG Select Council on Workplace Relations is yet to meet.
