Fair Work Principles

The Australian Government Fair Work Principles support the creation of quality jobs and decent work by ensuring that procurement decisions are consistent with the Fair Work Act and its aims including promoting fair, cooperative and productive workplaces in which employees are treated fairly and with respect including respect for freedom of association and their right to be represented at work.

Fair Work Principles User Guide November 2011

The Fair Work Principles User Guide:

  • assists relevant Commonwealth Entities interpret and implement the Fair Work Principles; and
  • assists suppliers and Tenderers to understand the Government’s expectations and requirements and therefore comply with the Fair Work Principles.

The Commonwealth Cleaning Services Guidelines

The Commonwealth Cleaning Services Guidelines are a legislative instrument that prescribe certain circumstances in which Australian Government agencies must decline to accept a tenderer’s proposal or enter into a contract with a tenderer in relation to an Australian Government Cleaning Services Contract (AGCSC).
