Workforce Development

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) defines workforce development as “the comprehensive management of human resources, so as to meet better the demands of a global economy at both the national and local levels, through improving economic competitiveness and social cohesion.” 1

The Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education (DIISRTE) undertakes a diverse range of activities to inform workforce development practices through research, projects and funding of programs. Some information from these activities are outlined here.
