For VET provider applicants
The VET tuition assurance requirements are changing.
From 19 February 2010, changes to the Higher Education Support Act 2003 take effect to remove the requirement for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to have VET tuition assurance arrangements in place at the time they apply for approval as a VET provider. VET provider applicants will now have until immediately prior to the end of the assessment process to meet the VET tuition assurance requirements.
These changes will make the VET provider application process faster for all RTOs and reduce the cost for RTOs of meeting the VET tuition assurance arrangements.
Applicants that have already submitted an application for VET provider approval will not be affected by these changes, as they will have already met the VET tuition assurance requirements upon application.
