Disability Employment Service
Disability Employment Services (DES) provide specialist help for people with disability who require support to find and maintain sustainable employment. The program is delivered by a network of organisations around Australia.
Disability Employment Services consists of two distinct programs:
- Disability Management Service for job seekers with disability, injury or health condition who require the assistance of a disability employment service but are not expected to need long-term support in the workplace.
- Employment Support Service for job seekers with permanent disability and with an assessed need for more long-term, regular support in the workplace.

Higher Education Disability Support Program
The Higher Education Disability Support Program provides funding to eligible higher education providers to undertake activities that assist in removing barriers to access for students with disabilities. It consists of three components:
- Additional Support for Students with Disabilities (ASSD)
- The Australian Disability Clearinghouse on Education and Training (ADCET)
- Performance-based Disability Support Funding

Job Access
JobAccess is an information and advice service funded by the Australian Government. It offers help and workplace solutions for people with disability and their employers. JobAccess is an initiative of the Australian Government to support the employment of people with disability. It includes a comprehensive, easy to use web site and a free telephone information and advice service where you can access confidential, expert advice on the employment of people with disability.

United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is intended as a human rights instrument with an explicit, social development dimension. It adopts a broad categorization of persons with disabilities and reaffirms that all persons with all types of disabilities must enjoy all human rights and fundamental freedoms.
It clarifies and qualifies how all categories of rights apply to persons with disabilities and identifies areas where adaptations have to be made for persons with disabilities to effectively exercise their rights and areas where their rights have been violated, and where protection of rights must be reinforced.

Australian Human Rights Commission
The Australian Human Rights Commission is an independent statutory organisation that works to protect and promote the human rights of all people in Australia. The Australian Human Rights Commission contains a large amount of information on rights of people with disability.
