Revised Interim Program Guidelines and Supplementary Information for 2011-12 funding

The following information will help you navigate the application process.

They provide details of who can apply for funding, what the funding can be used for and the application process.

Priority Occupations List - National Workforce Development Fund

The occupations listed below are defined by the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO). A majority of employers are likely to find occupations on the list that are relevant to their enterprise.

Employers often use a diverse array of job titles to describe the same occupation and the title you use may not match the ANZSCO titles below. For example, Pipeline Operators and many of the other occupations covered by the gas industry are considered to be a priority occupation for the purposes of the program but the job titles below may not reflect those used by employers. Similarly, Bridge Constructor and other occupations covered by the civil construction sector are covered by the priority occupations listed below but the job titles used by employers in the sector may not appear on the list below. If you are unsure if a job title is captured on the Priority Occupations List (POL) you can contact the relevant Industry Skills Council  for clarification. Alternatively you may refer to the Job Outlook website on which you can search for detailed descriptions of the occupations listed below.

If an occupation is not included on the POL, but is in local demand, an application for inclusion may be made to the Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education through the relevant Industry Skills Council. Please see the Program Guidelines for more information on how to make an application for inclusion.

Compliance with Relevant Laws

Organisations interested in participating in the Fund should familiarise themselves with these Acts and seek their own legal advice to ensure compliance.
