Regional Education, Skills and Jobs

Regional Education, Skills and Jobs

The Australian Government announced, as part of the 2011-12 Budget, funding of $19.1 million over three years for the Regional Education, Skills and Jobs Plan initiative. The initiative supports the engagement of 34 Education, Skills and Jobs Coordinators in regional communities.

Education Skills and Jobs Coordinators will work with local stakeholders, including Regional Development Australia Committees in the 46 non-metropolitan Regional Development Australia areas, to develop Regional Education, Skills and Jobs Plans, built from local knowledge, to improve participation and outcomes in education, training and employment in regional Australia. The plans will be a key aspect of the Government’s strategy to improve productivity and participation in regional Australia.
