• The National Adult Literacy Agency
  This website contains practical literacy resources for student use and related links.

New Zealand

• Workbase New Zealand
  The National Centre for Workplace Literacy & Language is an independent non-profit organisation that improves literacy, numeracy and communication skills of the New Zealand workforce. Established in 1996 Workbase works in partnership with business, the tertiary education sector and government and contracts to a wide range of private and public sector organisations in recognition that literacy impacts across many policy and practice contexts.
• Literacy, Language and Numeracy Action Plan 2008-1012
  This site looks closely at how literacy and numeracy skills are taught and, in particular, how tertiary education organisations need to be supported to build their capability to offer these learning opportunities.

United Kingdom

• The National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE)
  The national agency for basic skills in England and Wales.
• BBC Skillswise
  An interactive adult literacy and numeracy resource from the BBC for tutors and learning. It aims to help adults improve their reading, writing and maths skills.
• Campaign for Learning
  Operated as a unique partnership of public, private and voluntary sector organisations, all dedicated to developing a learning society.
• Further Education National Training Organisation (FENTO)
  FENTO is the national lead body for the development, quality assurance and promotion of national standards for the FE sector in Britain.
• National Grid for Learning Cymru (NGfL Cymru)
  NGfL Cymru is managed by WJEC (Welsh Joint Education Committee) on behalf of the Welsh Assembly Government and from 1 June 2007 NGfL Cymru has been given an enhanced remit to develop its library of interactive resources for teachers and learners at all levels.

  ETS is the world's largest private educational testing and measurement organisation and a leader in educational research.
• Literacy Information and Communication System (LINCS) Policy and Legislation
  LINCS is the literacy community's gateway to the world of adult education and literacy resources on the Internet. The goal of LINCS is to bring adult literacy-related resources and expertise to a single point of access for users throughout the world.
• National Center for Family Literacy
  NCFL is a federal organisation that shares information about literacy and supports the development of high-quality literacy services so all Americans can develop essential basic skills. Two interesting documents on the site which concern essential/generic language, literacy and numeracy policy are:
