Accident on the track: an e-learning resource for workers in the rail industry.
This is an e-learning resource with extra activities and assessment tools for workers in the transport industries assessed at National Reporting System (NRS) 3 or lower. It provides support materials for trainers, assists with workplace communication, active listening, pronunciation, language and literacy and aids development of skills in working effectively with others, computer use and customer service. The target audiences are workers employed in the rail and tram transport and distribution industries who have limited experience in the use of electronically delivered learning tools and workers in geographically isolated work sites who are unable to be released from work for mainstream training.

Communicating Well
The resource includes an interactive CD and accompanying booklet that supports the LLN needs of workplace learners studying BSBCMM201A Communicate in the workplace from the Business Services Training Package (BSB07). This learning resource will support workers employed or preparing to enter the rail transport industry sector, those that need assistance with language and literacy, those with English as a second language and those undertaking the Certificate IV in Transport and Distribution (Rail Operations). Additionally, the resource will address the workplace communication needs of rail transport workers, including CALD employees, so that they are able to perform their roles to appropriate industry standards.

On the Track: Using Numbers Successfully
An interactive CD that supports the language and numeracy needs of workplace learners studying TLIE507C Carry out basic workplace calculations from the Transport and Logistics Training Package (TLI07). The materials will be customised for railroad employees but are not limited to this segment of the Transport and Logistics industry. The content will be introduced systematically through a variety of customised and interactive learning experiences and is designed to assist those in positions where the accurate and confident application of numeracy skills are an integral part of safe, routine work.
