This resource, developed with the assistance of Workplace English Language and Literacy (WELL) funding, is designed to help workplaces in the drilling sector improve workplace communication. Primarily targetting trainers, the resource is ided into five sections:
- Section A: communication - the basic business skill
- Section B: improving your organisation's communication channels
- Section C: analysing the communication skills of the job and the skills of employees
- Section D: meeting employee communication needs in training and assessing
- Section E: how to set up a language, literacy and numeracy program
The resource includes information on:
- the importance of communication in the workplace
- checklists for assessing existing communication
- guidelines for improving communication, for example in team meetings
- ways of identifying literacy and numeracy needs in training
While it was specifically developed for the drilling industry it could be adapted to meet the needs of a range of industries.

Guide to the National Drillers' Licence Examinations (2009 edition)
The Guide to the National Drillers' Licence Examinations 2009 helps applicants for waterwell drilling licences to understand, practice and complete the mandatory examination component of the licence application.
It is Commonwealth copyright, and has been developed with full input from all Australian driller licensing authorised bodies. The Guide will suit both current licence examinations and proposed revised units of competency from DRT03, which reflect one another. The resource is a spiral-bound A4 booklet suitable for dispatch with licence application materials by state licensing bodies and distributor of national licence examinations
The resource was formally endorsed by the National Uniform Driller Licensing Committee on 28 May 2009.
