Communicating in the horse racing industry

This resource is for jockeys and stablehands who are studying the Certificate II in Racing. It is aimed at supporting and developing new reading and writing skills alongside the racing industry skills and knowledge they are learning. Once learners have been introduced to this resource, have started using it and are familiar with its contents, they can then access it at their leisure and should be encouraged to do so. The resource consists of five topics:

  1. Identify rights and responsibilities related to working within the racing industry
  2. Manage time according to tasks required
  3. Participate in work teams
  4. Identify personal development opportunities for the individual in the racing industry
  5. Communicate appropriately in the racing industry
