The Certificates in General Education for Adults (CGEA) is a Victorian crown copyright accredited curriculum owned by the Adult, Community and Further Education Board, Department of Community Development and Planning, Victoria.
It consists of the following 5 courses:
- 21770VIC Course in Initial General Education for Adults
- 21771VIC Certificate I in General Education for Adults (Introductory)
- 21772VIC Certificate I in General Education for Adults
- 21773VIC Certificate II in General Education for Adults
- 21774VIC Certificate III in General Education for Adults
It is nationally recognised and available to download as one document from the Training Support Network website.

Both documents are available to download from the ACFE website.
Advice on implementation and assessment can be obtained from the Curriculum Maintenance Manager (CMM) General Studies and Further Education who is responsible for the maintenance and development of the courses. The curriculum is currently being reviewed and a number of changes will be published in Version 3 2010. It is essential that RTOs have the current version of the accredited curriculum.

The Australian Securities and Investment Commission has published a range of educational and money management resources for humanitarian entrants to Australia.
The money management content will equip Literacy Practitioners with a valuable set of teaching resources that will assist in the learning needs of clients. The resources cater for different learning and literacy levels and cover topics including, household budgets, banking, paying bills, saving money, contracts, credit, types of credit debt working in Australia and insurance.
