Allocation of the additional 15,000 training places

Of the additional 15,000 training places allocated at the Certificate III level announced in September 2008:

  • 3,000 places have already been allocated to job seekers;
  • 3,000 places will be allocated by the Commonwealth before 31 December 2008 using PIMS; and
  • the remaining 9,000 places for the period 1 January 2009 to 30 June 2009 will be allocated by the state and territory governments.

 

Allocation of the additional 46,000 training places

Of the additional 56,000 training places announced in October 2008, 10,000 places will be allocated as Structural Adjustment Places and the remaining 46,000 training places will be allocated via PIMS on a monthly basis. Places are allocated at the Certificate II (26,000), Certificate III (20,000 including 10,000 as Structural Adjustment Places) and Certificate IV (10,000) levels.

The monthly, national allocation, including the 3,000 Certificate III available to 31 December 2008, will commence from November 2008 and released as follows:

  • Certificate II – 3,250 per month till 30 June 2009;
  • Certificate III – 2,750 per month till 31 December 2008, then 1,250 per month till 30 June 2009;
  • Certificate IV – 1,250 per month to June 2009.
