In the 2010-11 Budget, the Australian Government announced that it would work with state and territory governments to develop an over-arching National Foundation Skills Strategy for Adults. The aim of the Strategy is to bring a national focus to improving the foundation skills of Australian adults and to provide a framework for Australian, state and territory government action on this issue over the next ten years.
