When are the National Focus categories being held?
National Focus category winners will be recognised at the 2012 Australian Training Awards event on 16 November 2012 in Melbourne.

What are the National Focus categories?
There are five categories:

When do the applications open?
Applications opened on 26 November 2011.

When do applications close?
Applications close at 5:00 PM (AEST) on 31 May 2012.

What do I do if I want to apply for a National Focus category?
You will need to complete the relevant application form. The application forms are available at the How to Enter web page of the National Focus categories website.

Who can apply for the awards? Are there any eligibility requirements?
There are eligibility requirements. See Conditions of Entry.

Are there any costs for applying?
There is no cost to apply for the National Focus categories.

How are winners selected and how does the judging process work?
See Judging Process. All applications will be short listed by independent evaluators. Short listed applications will then be assessed by an expert judging panel who will select three finalists. The three finalists from each category will be required to host a site visit by an evaluator, and attend a Judging Day during September 2012, in Canberra. 

Will I be told if I am a finalist?
If you have been selected as a finalist, the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) will notify you by phone and will follow-up in writing. 

How will I know if I have not been selected as a finalist?
DEEWR will notify unsuccessful applicants in writing.

When will I receive information about the finalists Judging Day?
Finalists will be notified in August 2012 after the short listing process is complete.

If I am a winner, is there any prize money or rewards?
The winner of the each National Focus category will receive a cash prize of $5000, a trophy and framed certificate.
