What is the judging process for the Australian Training Awards?
For individual and organisation categories that nominate through the state and territory training awards processes, judging will start at the state or territory level. The judging criteria used for the state, territory and national awards are aligned. Candidates for the Australian Training Awards demonstrate levels of excellence against these criteria by winning the state or territory training awards in their relevant category.
For individual and organisation categories that nominate through the state and territory training awards processes, the original winning application from their state or territory awards is also used for the purpose of judging at the national level.
Judging panels are generally comprised of four members and are chaired by a Senior Executive Service officer from the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations.
Each panel also has a member of a state or territory government and an industry representative. The winner of the previous Australian Training Award (in the aligned category) may also be invited to participate on the panel.
