The Australian Government is committed to improving educational outcomes for all Australian children, enhancing the wellbeing of students, and preparing them for life as adults.
Addressing student wellbeing is emerging as an important approach to the development of students’ social, emotional and academic competence and a significant contribution to the ongoing battle to prevent youth depression, suicide, self-harm, anti-social behaviour (including bullying and violence) and substance abuse.
The Scoping study into approaches to student wellbeing, commissioned by the Australian Government, explores the relationship between the physical and emotional wellbeing of Australian students and their academic achievement at school, and their mental health and lifestyle.
