Abstract
An evaluation of the 2006 Australian Government National Awards for Quality Schooling (the Awards) was conducted by I & J Management Services between December 2006 and March 2007.
The purposes of the independent evaluation were:
- To determine what impact winning an Award had on Award winners and student learning; and
- To establish whether the Awards align with the Australian Government Quality Teacher Programme objective to improve the professional standing of school teachers and leaders.
The consultants collected information from a range of different stakeholders, including Award winners, DEST, Teaching Australia, Australian College of Educators and the Australian Council for Educational Research.
