Financial and Educational Accountability

Financial and Educational Accountability

Financial viability

The Financial Health Assessment Framework for non-government schools is a measure of the school’s financial performance, based on data from the Financial Questionnaire and the Schools Census.

Assessments are based on a number of financial indicators and industry benchmarks, with a school assigned to a grouping according to the number of benchmarks it meets.

Educational accountability

Non-government schools must meet a range of school performance and transparency requirements.  These are outlined in Division 3 of the Schools Assistance Act 2008 and in regulations made under the Act.

The Commonwealth and state and territory governments have an agreed Measurement Framework for National Key Performance Measures for schooling in Australia.
