My School

My School

On Friday 24 February 2012 the Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Minister for School Education Peter Garrett launched the annual update of the My School website.

This year’s My School provides updated school profile data, performance outcomes and financial information for all Australian schools. It also has enhancements including a new way to view student progress in literacy and numeracy and additional Vocational Education and Training (VET) data.

The student gain pages on My School allow website users to view student progress in literacy and numeracy outcomes as they move from years 3 to 5, 5 to 7 or 7 to 9. This year’s new feature allows comparisons of gains made by groups of students starting from the same achievement level, that is, students who had the same test results as each other when they sat NAPLAN two years previously.

With four years of NAPLAN results now available, the gain measurement on My School enables parents, educators and members of the community to track student performance over time.

The 2012 version of My School also includes new information on the VET in schools page about the types of vocational pathways that students are taking and the level of qualifications they are achieving.
