“I’ve never taken drugs but my big sister, Nikki used to take ecstasy all the time. She used to go out with a whole gang of her friends every weekend until one time when everything went horribly wrong.
“I don’t know the whole story because Nikki still can’t speak about it without crying, but a group of them went out to a festival and took ecstasy like they usually did. They got the pills from a friend so they thought they would be okay. They all took the same thing but apparently only a couple of them got sick. After a while they went home and I think Nikki still feels really guilty because she complained about them being sick. |
“They were all staying at one house as they planned. Even though some of the girls were sick they decided to go to bed. Later that night, one of the girls became very sick. They tried to wake her up but she wasn’t responding. They called an ambulance and she was taken to hospital.
“It was too late; she died the next morning. Nikki is still devastated. None of them believed that ecstasy could kill – but it did.”
