“Sian was a fairly experienced ecstasy user but had never tried ketamine or ‘Special K’ as it is usually called. Her friends had obviously told her about their experiences and she gave it a try. When we found Sian she was with a friend in a toilet cubicle vomiting. According to her friend she had been in that state for at least an hour. She could not lift her head without feeling nauseous, was sweating profusely and just wanted the whole experience to finish. |
“Because she was feeling so unwell we were unable to move her out of the toilet for some time. We stayed with her and tried to make her as comfortable as possible. There is very little we can do for someone who uses a drug like ketamine. If you are going to have a bad experience, you just have to ride it out until the drug has finished working in your system.
“After about another 45 minutes Sian started to feel a little better. We moved her back to the medical tent, made sure she was well hydrated after vomiting so much, and then found someone to escort her home.”
