National Literacy and Numeracy Week Partnerships
Several other complementary activities are set to take place during NLNW 2010:

2010 Prime Minister’s Literary Awards
2010 PM's Literary Awards
The Prime Minister's Literary Awards, held annually, recognise literature's importance to our national identity, community and economy. In 2010, two new prizes have been added to the Awards to recognise literature for younger reading audiences—Children's Fiction and Young Adult Fiction. Winning authors will be awarded $100,000 for each category. The winners will be announced during National Literacy and Numeracy Week. See the 2010 PM's Literary Awards page for more information.

Indigenous Literacy Day - Wednesday, 1 September 2010
Register at the Indigenous Literacy Project website.
National Literacy and Numeracy Week is proud to promote the Indigenous Literacy Day on Wednesday 1 September 2010. The Indigenous Literacy Project is a partnership between the Australian Book Industry and The Fred Hollows Foundation to increase the literacy of Indigenous people living in remote communities around Australia. Schools can get involved by holding a Great Book Swap or another fund raising event. Register now or make a donation anytime at www.indigenousliteracyproject.org.au

Share-A-Book Day - Friday, 3 September 2010
Share-A-Book provides new and quality pre-loved books and magazines to Indigenous, refugee and marginalised communities in need of resources. Children's and early teens books and magazines are donated to Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation (ALNF) by schools, corporations, publishing houses, booksellers and individuals and are then distributed to targeted regions across Australia.
This year SchoolAid will join with ALNF to support an even bigger Share-A-Book Day campaign!
To register your school for Share-A-Book Day 2010 and receive education packs for your classroom go to the SchoolAid website.
