The Australian Government is investing $50.1 million to deliver the Online Diagnostic Tools initiative.
The Online Diagnostic Tools initiative will provide Australian teachers and parents with access to online tools and resources that help them assess student progress in key learning areas and link to relevant digital learning resources to help them improve.
Teachers will be able to deliver individualised assessments to obtain regular and timely feedback on student progress, supporting the use of optimal strategies and resources. Diagnostic tools will also connect teachers and students with Australian Curriculum aligned learning resources corresponding to students’ individual learning needs. Parents will also have access to activities and resources that help them obtain information about their child’s progress in key learning areas and enable them to work with them to improve.
This initiative will also see development and trial of online delivery of the National Assessment Program Sample Assessments in Science Literacy, Civics and Citizenship and Information and Communications Technology.
Implementation of the Online Diagnostic Tools initiative is commencing in 2011.
More information will be made available on this website as work on the initiative progresses.
