New Minister for DEEWR and Social Inclusion

The Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, has announced that Simon Crean is the new Minister for Education, Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, and Minister for Social Inclusion.

Minister Crean has been Trade Minister since December 2007 and was former Leader of the Opposition from November 2001 to December 2003 and Shadow Treasurer from December 2003 to October 2004. He also served as Minister for Employment, Education and Training between 1993 and 1996.
