Response to the LHMU Big Steps Campaign
Maxine McKew received more than 2000 letters from members of the LHMU as part of its Big Steps campaign. Here is her response to members.

Maxine McKew promotes a professional, enthusiastic and well trained child care workforce (video produced in 2008)
New training avenues include:
- Removal of TAFE fees for the upgrade of diplomas and advanced diplomas in children services;
- Child Care Apprenticeships;
- Reduction of HECS-HELP debt for teaching in regional or remote areas.
