The Australian Government encourages Australian students to immerse themselves into social and academic cultures of other countries and provides opportunities for international students to study in and experience Australia. The Government also seeks to support Australian higher education providers in further developing and diversifying their linkages with partner institutions overseas.
The Programs
Under the International Student Exchange Program, Australian higher education institutions receive funding to subsidise the cost of establishing and monitoring eligible student exchanges with registered higher education institutions in certain countries. The key features of the student exchange arrangements that underlie the International Student Exchange Program are tuition fee waiver and credit transfer. This Program incorporates the Endeavour Cheung Kong Student Exchange Program (ECKSEP)
The Study Overseas Short-term Mobility Program provides funding to eligible higher education institutions in Australia to subsidise the costs to students and staff participating in outbound short-term mobility experiences of up to six months.
The VET Outbound Mobility Program provides funding to eligible Australian RTOs to subsidise the costs to students and staff participating in outbound short-term mobility experiences of up to six months.
