The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) is committed to the Australian Government’s target of reducing Indigenous disadvantage. This commitment builds on the substantial reform agenda agreed to by all Australian Governments in 2008 through five Indigenous specific National Partnerships – in health, housing, early childhood development, economic participation and remote service delivery.
A range of programs are available to assist Indigenous young people, including the Indigenous Youth Mobility Program, the Sporting Chance program and the Dare to Lead program. Indigenous Young people can also engage with the government on issues that affect them through the Australian Youth Forum.
