Scholarships allocated to Partnership Brokers

The maximum IYLP secondary scholarship amount is $16,823 per student per annum in 2012. The scholarship amount disbursed to schools will depend on each school’s tuition fees and applicable boarding costs, and Centrelink payments such as ABSTUDY received by the school on behalf of the IYLP student.

Where an IYLP student’s total educational costs is less than the maximum IYLP scholarship amount, the Partnership Broker may use these funds to support additional eligible students. This will be particularly relevant where students are day (i.e. non-boarding) students or at schools with lower costs.

This flexible use of scholarship funds will increase the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander disadvantaged students being supported to access high performing schools.

The maximum IYLP tertiary scholarship amount is $7,505.95 per student per annum in 2012. An additional up to $1,250 to be indexed annually in 2011 and 2012 supports each student’s leadership development.
