How the Reformed Indigenous Employment Program can help philanthropic partners
Through the reformed Indigenous Employment Program (IEP), the philanthropic sector can also play a significant role in building the capacity of Indigenous businesses and assisting them to grow their business. The reformed IEP may be able to facilitate business-to-business connections and assist the corporate sector to share expertise and open up opportunities for Indigenous businesses to partner, sub-contract or develop new opportunities with the corporate sector.
The reformed IEP supports a broad range of activities that are suited to local Indigenous people and their circumstances by focusing on employment and business outcomes. The reformed IEP is designed to be flexible and responsive to the needs of employers, Indigenous Australians and their communities.
The Australian Government is also supporting the Australian Employment Covenant that aims to generate 50 000 jobs for Indigenous Australians.
