How the Reformed Indigenous Employment Program can help Indigenous Communities
The reformed Indigenous Employment Program (IEP) will help Indigenous Australians and their communities to build sustainable business and employment opportunities in urban, regional and remote locations.
The reformed IEP can assist through funding the development of initial scoping studies to understand the region, the communities and potential employment and business development opportunities. Communities will primarily receive assistance through one of DEEWR’s providers.
Eligibility
To be eligible for assistance under the IEP, Indigenous communities are defined as those that include representatives of a population of Indigenous Australians in urban, rural or remote areas who want to work together to improve employment and economic participation outcomes for the members of their community.
