CDEP Placement Incentive
The Community Development Employment Projects Placement Incentive (CDEP PI) will cease from 1 July 2009. The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) will continue to process all Claim for Payments with job start dates prior to 1 July 2009 to ensure that both continuing and ceasing CDEP providers are still able to claim the incentive.
Ceasing CDEP Providers may be able to receive up to $3025 when a participant exits CDEP and moves into on going employment for at least 15 hours per week, for job start dates prior to 1 July 2009.
Continuing CDEP Providers will need to take advice from the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) in relation to the submission of 13 week and 26 week employment outcomes and CDEP PI Claim of Payments.
Continuing CDEP Providers will have to make their Initial Claim for Payment for job start dates prior to 1 July 2009 on a paper Claim for Payment form and submit it to DEEWR. It is essential that the Initial Claim is made no later than 31 July 2009. Claims for Payment received after this date will not be processed.
Conditions for CDEP PI:
- A payment of $550 is made at commencement of employment, a further $1,650 after 13 weeks of employment, with a final payment of $825 after 26 weeks of employment.
- Payment will be made by electronic transfer so it is essential that the ceasing organisations have a business bank account. Payment will not be made into a personal bank account.
- The job can be in the private, public or community sector.
- The job can be subsidised (for example through Wage Assistance) but the participant must be off the CDEP schedule and not in receipt of CDEP wages.
- The participant can find his/her own job - the CDEP does not need to organise the placement.
- Ceasing CDEP Providers will have CDEPManager access removed from 30 June 2009.
Where ceasing providers are eligible for an Initial, 13 week or 26 week payment for placements made prior to 1 July 2009, they will need to apply using a paper Claim for Payment form. It is essential that the Initial Claim is made no later that 31 July 2009. Claims for Payment received after this date will not be processed.
The 13 week and 26 week Claims for Payment must be received no later than 28 days after they are due. The Department reserves the right not to process any Claims for Payment after 28 days.
