The Australian Indigenous Minority Supplier Council (AIMSC) was established in September 2009 as a three year pilot project. The AIMSC pilot aims to encourage the growth of Indigenous Australian businesses by linking corporate and government purchasers with certified Indigenous suppliers of goods and services. In doing so, AIMSC seeks to contribute to the creation of a sustainable, vibrant and prosperous Indigenous enterprise sector in Australia.
In 2011, the Department commissioned PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to conduct a post-implementation review of the AIMSC pilot initiative. The Report indicated that there is considerable goodwill and momentum behind AIMSC and that AIMSC had achieved significant successes in its first two years of operation.
More information on AIMSC is available on the Australian Indigenous Minority Supplier Council website.
