SRA provides supplementary per capita funding to education systems and independent schools for their preschool enrolments.
SRA aims to accelerate educational outcomes for Indigenous Australians beyond those which could reasonably be expected from mainstream and own-source funding alone, by focusing provider effort on the 8 MCEETYA priority areas for Indigenous education.
Funding agreements for Indigenous Preschool SRA program elements for 2009 and 2010 are transitional arrangements for the respective calendar years while the Australian Government finalizes consultation with a view to better aligning the preschool SRA arrangements with the broader early childhood development policy agenda.
