Characteristics and Performance Indicators
Data from the Students Collections
Data from the most recent student collection (2008) is available in the form of aggregated datasets. There are three datasets available - student enrolments 2008, student load 2008 and course completions 2008. Each of these datasets is in a zip file. The specifications for each field in each dataset are described in the Student Help File.
Other tailor-made datasets can be produced from the student collection to meet user requirements. These datasets are normally provided as fixed-format flat ASCII files, but they can be produced in other formats such as spreadsheets. They can be distributed electronically or on CD. Charges will be incurred for these products.
Tabulations can also be generated to meet the needs of data users who are less able to undertake analyses from raw data. Output can be in printed format or as spreadsheets. Charges will be incurred for these products.
Data from the Staff Collection
Data from the 2008 staff collection is available in the form of an aggregated dataset. This dataset contains data for full-time, fractional full-time and estimated casual staff. The specifications for each field in each dataset are described in the Staff Help File.
Other tailor-made datasets can be produced from the staff collection to meet user requirements. These datasets are normally provided as fixed-format flat ASCII files but they can be produced in other formats such as spreadsheets. They can be distributed electronically or on CD.
Tabulations can also be generated to meet the needs of data users who are less able to undertake analyses from raw data. Output can be in printed format or as spreadsheets.
Note: Zip files provided on this website are a self extracting Zip file, and will open without a unzip product. If problems are encountered with the self extraction a solution is to download Winzip.
Data from the Finance and Research Collections
Data in spreadsheet format can be supplied from the Finance Collection and the Research Expenditure Collection. Please contact ppfinance@deewr.gov.au for more information.
Listings and specifications for data that are available
The type of data available can be seen from the specifications for each of the collections. For more information on the types of data elements available, please see the HEIMS webpage.
