Requirements for provision of statistical data and CHESSN allocation
Under subsection 19-70(1) of the Higher Education Support Act 2003, Higher Education Providers are required to provide statistical and other information to DEEWR.
A Ministerial Notice issued on 5 December 2008 sets out the requirements for the Higher Education Student Collection for 2009.
A Ministerial Notice issued on 30 November 2009 sets out the requirements for the Higher Education Data Collection for 2010 and 2011.
Providers must monitor for any changes to the data requirements which may be made from time to time. All changes will be noted in the Data Requirements and Change Control document for the relevant reporting year. The HEIMSHELP website provides detailed information for higher education providers on all reporting requirements. This includes information on the Higher Education Higher Education Client Assistance Tool (HEPCAT).
HEPCAT enables Higher Education Providers to prepare, validate and transfer data required under the Higher Education Support Act 2003 (HESA) to DEEWR. The User Guide provides an overview of the deployment and installation process for HEPCAT software.
