World class library for QUT students

Students at the Queensland University of Technology will be able to learn in world-class, newly refurbished library at the Kelvin Grove campus.

The refurbished library was opened by Minister for Tertiary Education, Senator Chris Evans on 16 May 2011.

The university received $13.5 million from the Australian Government under the Better Universities Funding initiative (BURF) to re-vamp the library.

The library has been transformed into a modern learning environment with leading information technology and more than 200 new study spaces with collaborative or individual study zones.

Queensland University of Technology is one of 41 universities which have received funds from the $500 million BURF initiative.

Since 2008, the Australian Government has committed $4.5 billion to provide funding for projects that create or develop significant infrastructure in higher education, research and vocational education and training institutions.
