The program connects skilled volunteers, aged 50 years and over, with challenging opportunities to volunteer in the not-for-profit sector. Working closely with Golden Gurus and organisations, Volunteering Queensland facilitates desirable connections and placements through an understanding of individual and organisational requirements.
Golden Gurus is aligned with the Queensland Government’s Q2 agenda to see a
50 per cent increase in volunteer participation by 2020.
On 26 May 2009, Volunteering Queensland, supported by the Queensland Department of Communities, launched Golden Gurus throughout the state of Queensland.
