On 1 July, the Parliamentary Secretary for Social Inclusion and the Voluntary Sector, Senator Ursula Stephens announced the release of the Golden Guru Grants.
There are 50 Golden Gurus Grants of $10,000 each. Applications open on 1 July 2010 and close on 30 July 2010.
Golden Guru Grants can help organisations that deliver the Golden Gurus program to broker new opportunities for their Golden Gurus and to prepare their Golden Gurus for these roles, including through quality training.
The Grants also encourage organisations to consider how their programs might connect mature age mentors to apprentices or trainees.
To be eligible to apply for Golden Gurus Grants, an organisation will need to be approved to deliver the Golden Gurus program either prior to, or at the same time as applying for a Golden Gurus Grant.
