If you are aged 50 years and over and you work alongside apprentices or trainees, your employer may be eligible for funding for training that will increase your capacity to provide mentoring and supervisory support in the workplace.

More Help for Mature Age Workers
If you are 50 years or over and have trade relevant skills but no formal qualifications, your employer may be able to access up to $4400 (includes GST) to provide you with the opportunity to have your skills assessed and formally recognized, and provide you with appropriate training to address any skills gaps.

Productivity Places Program
The Productivity Places Program recognises that many workers change the type of work they do over their careers, and allows you to train or re-train in areas of skills shortage. Please note: The Productivity Places Program will finish 30 June 2012.

Australian Apprenticeships
Australian Apprenticeships combine work with training and can be full-time or part-time to give you a nationally recognised qualification and the experience you need to get the job you want.
Australian Apprenticeships are available to anyone of working age with or without a secondary school certificate or other qualification.
Australian Apprenticeships are available in a variety of qualifications levels in more than 500 occupations across Australia, in traditional trades, as well as a diverse range of emerging careers in most sectors of business and industry.
