(50 years and over) so they can provide supervisory or mentoring support in the workplace.
Mature age workers (50 years and over) in Priority Employment Areas can access tailored assistance and training through Job Services Australia if they want help to move to a less physically demanding role. Assistance is also available for recently retrenched workers in Priority Employment Areas who have a formal notice of redundancy and who were retrenched from 1 January 2011.
Mature age workers whose job is at risk due to a health condition may be able to access On-the-job Support, tailored face-to-face training and support to help them keep their job.
The Australian Government is serious about removing the barriers to employment facing mature age people and believes the skills they have developed throughout their lifetime including paid and unpaid work, community leadership and raising a family are highly valuable.
