All full-time sites will require at least one Jobsearch Facility (personal computer or similar device, with broadband internet connectivity, access to a printer and consumables, for example paper and toner) to be operational from 1 July 2009. One Jobsearch Facility will be required for every 500 registered job seekers and DEEWR will fund $3,000 for each Facility each year. While providers are free to establish as many Jobsearch Facilities as they wish, DEEWR will make the final determination for the minimum number of Jobsearch Facilities. The number of Jobsearch Facilities required to be installed by Job Services Australia providers is dependent on the number of job seekers allocated to each site.

As initial job seeker site allocations for Job Services Australia will not be confirmed until mid June 2009, DEEWR cannot advise specific numbers of required Jobsearch Facilities at each site until this occurs. To ensure sufficient Jobsearch Facilities are available at each site on 1 July 2009, provider organisations will need to:

• Ensure at least one Jobsearch facility is available in every full time site; and
• Estimate the number of additional Jobsearch facilities that will likely be required at each site based on the number of job seekers to be assisted by a provider at the Employment Service Area (ESA) level.

For example, a provider which knows it will service 2,000 job seekers in an ESA, will also know that, within that ESA, it will have a small site with around 400-600 job seekers, and a large site with around 1,400 to 1,600 job seekers. The Provider could estimate, based on the Jobsearch facilities guidelines and the allocation table, that it will need one or two Jobsearch facilities in the small site and three or four facilities in the larger site.

In the smaller site the provider may decide to establish two Jobsearch facilities and absorb the cost of the second facility, if DEEWR determines that it will fund one facility in that site. Alternatively, it could plan for one facility and prepare to establish a second facility at short notice, if DEEWR determines that it will fund two facilities in that site.
