Minister applauds new enterprises at annual NEIS Business Awards

The Minister for Employment Participation, Senator Mark Arbib presented the National New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS) Association Business Awards at a gala dinner in Bondi, Sydney on Tuesday night 10 October.

The Business Awards recognise the outstanding success of small businesses established under the Australian Government’s New Enterprise Incentive Scheme, which assists eligible unemployed Australians to start and run their own small businesses.

The awards were presented in four categories, including Best New Business, Best Growth Business, Unsung Hero and the AAMI NEIS-Change Award.

Sydney recruitment business Lucky You Found Me was announced as the winner of the Best New Business Award. Established by Michael Edelstein and Yulius Santoso in February 2009, the specialist accounting recruitment company has expanded its business offering services both nationally and internationally.

Other winners included music branding company Design Musik (Best Growth Business), Melbourne based New Enterprise Incentive Scheme trainer and mentor Tim Cremean (Unsung Hero) and Melbourne cleaning business Too Deadly Cleaning Services (AAMI NEIS-Change Award).

Senator Arbib congratulated the award winners on their business success and emphasised the role of the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme in supporting job seekers interested in the small business sector.

“Since its inception more than 24 years ago, the New Enterprise Incentive Scheme has assisted over 120,000 eligible job seekers,” Senator Arbib said.

The New Enterprise Incentive Scheme is part of the Government’s employment services Job Services Australia.
