As part of its commitment to increasing Australia’s productivity the department undertakes a range of research and analysis in the areas of skill shortages, recruitment experiences, labour and skills needs and industry and employment trends. With the increasing focus on environmental sustainability, the department is also participating in projects examining emerging green skills labour market issues. This work supports the department in providing advice on education, training and skilled migration programs and policies.
