Specialist services

Job Services Australia provides a single entry point to a range of employment services for job seekers. If you are a job seeker with special needs, you can gain access to specialised services and support through your local Job Services Australia provider. The services you receive will be streamlined, with no interruptions, to meet your individual needs and circumstances.

In many locations across Australia, Job Services Australia providers can offer you specialised services if you are assessed as being highly disadvantaged. Highly disadvantaged job seekers can include young people, Indigenous Australians, people with disability, people who are currently homeless or at risk of homelessness, people with mental illness and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Depending on the type of disadvantage you face, you can receive specific services to help you find and keep a job, this may include mental health support services, counselling, rehabilitation services, financial counselling and anger management. More assistance is also available to help you if you are highly disadvantaged.

Job Services Australia’s new approach to employment services allows greater flexibility in providing services, including additional support and services to help address personal barriers to employment and integrate job training, skills development and work experience when and where it is needed.
