Online Application Form for Child Care Benefit Approval Now Available

If you are seeking Child Care Benefit (CCB) approval for a:

  • Centre Based Long Day Care service
  • Family Day Care service, or
  • Outside School Hours Care service.

Please use the online form for CCB service approval below. It is important that you fully understand the legal obligations of approved child care services before applying for approval. Read the complete text in the application form and the attached legislative extracts carefully before submitting your application.

This online application form for CCB approval allows you to lodge your application directly with the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations over the internet.

As part of your application for CCB approval you are required to provide supporting documentation. This application form allows you to attach electronic documents of up to 2 MB each, and a total upload of 20 MB. If your application exceeds these limits you will need to send the remaining information separately by email to: ccbapplicationdocuments@deewr.gov.au.

Upon successfully completing the online application form for CCB approval, you will be issued with a ’Successful Submission Receipt’, which confirms your application has been received by the Department. You will also receive a confirmation email to the contact email address indicated in the form.

You should print or save the ‘Successful Submission Receipt’ for your records. It contains an Application ID that you will need to refer to if you wish to follow up with the Department on the progress of your application.

Please do not attempt to submit this online application for CCB approval form more than once as it may already have been received by DEEWR and may create multiple CCB applications.

IMPORTANT: If you plan to submit further applications in future, make sure you always come back to this website to get the latest version of the form, rather than using a previously saved copy. If you use a previously saved version the form may not work correctly.

Notice to all MAC Users: All Applicants who successfully submit an application form should receive a ’Successful Submission Receipt’ from DEEWR. MAC users who do not receive this are asked to contact the CCB Approvals Team in your State or Territory DEEWR office on 1300 363 079 or email ccbapplicationdocuments@deewr.gov.au to verify successful submission.

Registration of New Child Care Services

From 1 January 2012

Most long day care, family day care, preschool (kindergarten in some jurisdictions) and outside school hours care will be covered by the National Quality Framework.

The National Quality Framework provides a national regulatory system aimed at improving quality and reducing administrative burden for early childhood education and care services.

The National Quality Framework will put in place a new National Quality Standard to ensure high quality and consistent early childhood education and care across Australia.

State and territory Regulatory Authorities

The primary role of Regulatory Authorities is to administer the National Quality Framework. The system has been designed so that 99 per cent of all service interactions are with the
jurisdiction–based Regulatory Authority.

This streamlined approach will mean services that have previously been dealing with one or more Regulatory Authorities and a separate accreditation system will only need to deal with one authority and will have more time focus on providing high-quality education and care.

Information on the National Quality Framework is available on the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority website.

For more information services can contact DEEWR Child Care Access Hotline on 1800 670 305.
