This announcement marks the achievement of yet another key milestone in the implementation of the National Quality Framework agreed to by the Council of Australian Governments in December 2009.

As the new National Body, ACECQA will be a key driver of the national improvements in quality to early childhood education and care across Australia.  

The National Quality Framework which commences on 1 January 2012 and will be progressively implemented over a number of years will promote greater consistency in early childhood education and care services across Australia by introducing, for the first time, nationally consistent educator-to-child ratios and educator qualification requirements.
