National Workforce Census data collection complete

The National Early Childhood Education and Care Workforce Census (National Workforce Census) data collection is now complete.

The overall response rate to the Census has been terrific, with 85 per cent of all child care and preschool providers approached returning their service level (part one) questionnaire. For the staff level (part two) questionnaires, 75 per cent of child care and preschool services approached had a staff member who had returned a completed individual staff questionnaire. Thank you to all providers and staff for your active support of the National Workforce Census.

Census data is currently being processed and analysed, with results to inform government planning for the early childhood education and care sector. Findings will also help to ensure that high quality early childhood services are provided to young children and their families.
