Family Day Care
Family Day Care is a network of caregivers who provide flexible care and developmental activities in their own homes for other people's children.
Family Day Care services support and administer a network of Family Day Care carers who provide flexible care and developmental activities generally in their own homes for other people’s children. To assist with this, each Family Day Care service receives operational support funding from the Australian Government. Both not-for-profit and for-profit Family Day Care service providers may operate a family day care service.
A Family Day Care service is responsible for the effective operation of all components of Family Day Care, including recruiting, training and supporting carers, monitoring care provision and providing advice, support and information for parents. The service also assists parents to select an appropriate Family Day Care carer for their child.
A Family Day Care service can provide flexible care, including all-day care, part-time, casual, before and after school care, and care during school holidays.
